Safe At Last

When we first met, we were two souls
trying hard not to drown in the stormy sea called life.
Our ships had been damaged by the reefs called infidelity, abuse and deceit,
but we were still swimming.

We decided to swim together for a while,
and sometime on our way the miracle happened.
We learned that the reefs hadn't really damaged us,
but taught as an important lesson:

If two related souls find each other, no matter the hurt of the past
together they will build a strong ocean liner
that withstands all storms and reefs.

We found our final destiny in each other.
Now we are sailing proudly through the stormy sea
because we found rescue in each others arms.

We are awaiting patiently every challenge
in this safe harbor called love,
just you, my soulmate, and me.
Safe at last.
